York Road Building Fire

At 13:31 hours Companies 41, 36, 45 were dispatched to South Middleton Township on York Road at W100 radio station for a basement fire. Chief 41 arrived on scene first reporting smoke showing from sides A & B. He also reported that on Side D fire showing from Division 1 center part of the structure. Engine 241 responded with crew of 6 who deployed three handlines with Class A foam, with two lines in the front of the structure and one to Side D. It was found that the fire was on Division 1 and not in the basement. Crews made a quick know down but had a lot of overhaul since intense heat and smoke damage traveled the entire 2.5 story structure. The State Police Fire marshal was called to the scene to determine the cause which does not seem to be malicious in nature. Additional companies were called in for manpower as well as transfers. Thanks to all for a job well done. No civilian injuries and no firefighter injuries were reported.
