2012 Training Schedule

JANUARY 2012
- January 3 – Portable Radio Emergency Button Use @ Station 41 @ 1830 hrs.
Required attendance by all Interior & Exterior Firefighter’s
The Emergency Button on the portable radios will be activated by Cumberland
County Communications during February of 2012.
Instruction will be on the use
and re-setting of the emergency button.
- January 17 – SCBA Review @ Station 45 @ 1830 hrs
Required attendance by all Interior Firefighter’s
Review of SCBA inspection, donning, doffing and use
FEBRUARY 2012
- February 7 – RIT SCBA Bag @ Station 45 @ 1830 hrs
Required attendance by all Interior Firefighter’s
Use of RIT SCBA and associated equipment carried in the RIT bag
- February 8 – DAYLIGHT TRAINING FOR MEMBERS WHO WORK DURING NORMALLY
SCHEDULED TRAINING.
STATION 45 @ 0900 HRS
This day has been scheduled for members who cannot attend the previous
three training sessions due to work schedules.
ADDITIONAL DAYLIGHT TRAINING WILL BE SCHEDULED AS NEEDED
- February 21 – AED / CPR @ Station 45 @ 1830 hrs
This certification is required of all members who participate in
fire ground operations.
Certification may be obtained through other
locations (such as work, etc) with proof of certification forwarded to
the Carlisle Borough Fire Chief.
MARCH 2012
- March 6 – MAYDAY and RIT Operations @ Station 45 @ 1830 hrs
Review of MAYDAY Standard Operating Guidelines and RIT Operations
- March 20 – MAYDAY and RIT Operations Practical Evolutions @ 1830 hrs
Use of Station 38 Simulator. Departure time and other specifics will be posted
APRIL 2012
- April 3 – Sprinkler and Alarm Systems @ Station 41 @ 1830 hrs
Review of Sprinkler and Alarm Systems and CFD Standard Operating Guidelines
We will be visiting a facility in the area to review their fire protection system
- April 17 – Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) @ Station 45 @ 1830 hrs
Required attendance by all CFD apparatus driver/operators
NOTE: Previous certified EVOC classes will be accepted provided the class
was AFTER March of 2010.
Certification of attendance shall be
submitted to the Borough of Carlisle Fire Chief.
- April 21 – EVOC Practical
A driving course will be set up for driver/operator practice
MAY 2012
- May 1 – Ground Ladders @ Cumberland County Training Academy @ 1830 hrs
We will have guest instructors that I am sure you will enjoy
They call the class “Back to the Truck”
- May 15 – Vent/Enter/Search Operations @ Cumb. Co. Training Academy @ 1830 hrs
Theory and practical applications for Vent/Enter/Search rescue operations
- May 29 – Roof Ventilation @ Cumberland County Training Academy @ 1830 hrs
Roof ventilation operations with power saws
