| We will start with the Engine Company responding to 10 calls for service yesterday. A wide variety of calls were handled including several fire alarms, an elevator malfunction, multiple auto accidents, a vehicle fire (good intent), and a hot tub on fire impinging on a house.
Engine 241 was committed for several hours on a fatal accident on York Rd. We will not release any further details on this accident. While the engine was committed the station was well staffed and handled additional calls. Our thoughts are with the family during this difficult time. Thank you to our fire police officers who remained on scene providing scene safety for several hours as well.
Last night we were able to get some training in between calls with Company 39. We continued our engine riding assignment responsibility module and covered the hook and can position. Members ran through various scenarios at the county training grounds. Crews were tasked with masking up in 30 seconds or less and making entry to perform primary search operations with the hook and can. Crews then rotated to the drill tower focusing on finding fire locations and directing a crew on where to deploy hose lines to for fire attack. A ladder station was also in place for members to throw ladders in between stations. Thanks to all of our members for putting in the extra effort on a busy day. Company 41 had over 20 members attend training last night!
