| That fire started in the early morning hours and unfortunately had a victim that had not been found yet. Additional crews such as ours were brought in to relieve the initial crews that had been working for several hours in the frigid temps. Due to structural collapse and conditions the initial crews had to back out and go defensive. Engine 241 assisted for 4.5 hours until the victim was recovered. The station remained staffed with 6 personnel. Our thoughts go out to the family. (No pictures of this incident will be posted)
Monday December 15th @ 02:40 Engine 241 w/5, Tanker 41, Chief 41 and 141 responded to the 500 blk of Longs Gap Rd in North Middleton Twp for a fire in the basement. Crews found fire in the baseboards around the bottom of the fire box for the chimney. Company 41 cleared around 04:00 the station was staffed with 2.
Tuesday December 16th @ 11:46 Engine 241 w/4, Tanker 41 and Utility 41 responded to the 1500 blk of Newville Road for a garage fire in West Pennsboro Twp. While enroute county added the first alarm and upgraded it to a house fire. Engine 141 arrived in 4 minutes reporting a detached garage fully involved extending into the house. Two lines were deployed off Engine 141 for fire attack splitting between the house and garage. A primary search was also completed by the engine officer. The fire was knocked down in a few short minutes, crews remained on scene for 2.5 hours completing overhaul operations. Company 41 had 9 members on scene and 4 on station. Special thanks to Upper Allen Twp for the Engine transfer. Engine 23 handled a first due gas leak in South Middleton while they were transferred. |
